Back in PA at this time of year we threw traps, traps and traps. And some small grubs or tubes. I never got into jig'n'pig, though alot of guys did well on them. I just threw lighter worms or tubes and got outfished. I must have been stubborn back then...

Ya know, I always felt like it defied logic that a fast moving bait like a crankbait would outfish a worm or pig or whatever at that time of year, with those water temps. But some of the best days I've ever had at any time of year were in late March on traps.

Anyways, one of these years I should get back into freshwater fishing. Maybe I'll keep my aluminum... are the lakes and ponds mostly restricted horsepower or not? Alot of the lakes in Western PA were 10HP lakes. I have an 18 on my tracker, but I have an old 6hp johnson at my dad's that runs great. It would be slow as heck, but if the lakes are restricted, it would be better than nothing.
