I'll add my voice to that concert, I'd not recommend them and I think Slipknot has been screwed by them, as has another friend of mine. Two service trips and many $$$$ later they never fixed my cold weather shifting problem. Plus the last time I came out with a broken trailer light and a broken trailer jack.
The problem isn't isolated to Atlantic either, because I wouldn't recommend the Suzuki dealer (Landfall then bought by Hewett Cove in Hingham Mass) I went to after Atlantic couldn't and wouldn't fix my shifting problems. You couldn't give me another Suzuki and not because it's a bad outboard, in fact the guy that's taking mine tomorrow got a steal at $2,200. The problem is that when you have a shift problem, go to 2 dealers, 4 separate service trips and still have the problem, only to get a final diagnosis for an additional $660 repair....well let's just say I have no confidence in the Suzuki service. Then the guy who bought it talked to two other service guys that had some experience on Suzukis and they told him cold weather shifting is a problem on Suzukis because of the way the design relies on gravity and the cold weather affects the gear oil and prevents shifting. So he may have gotten himself one hell of a deal, but I didn't care I don't plan on buying another one.
One would think that 2 Suzuki dealers would be aware of that, but that assumes they are competant. Oops got ranting there, but bad boat dealers are like bad auto dealers, there is one in every town. I'm looking forward to getting into the Honda and the plus is, the guy also is a Lund dealer and the Minn Kota service center.
