I've found that albies and bones bite more readily in the morning hours.

As the day progresses into the afternoon, they seem to get more cautious.

I don't know why this is the case, but I guess it has to do with their very sharp vision. They also tend to bite more frequently if the water is turbid.

In any case, using good quality fluorocarbon leader really helps. Seguar or Orvis Mirage 15 lb. (or thereabouts, Orvis comes in weird sizes) is the ticket.
