Do both set of keys match exactly ? If so then the pins are also the same in both locks.
If the door is unlock when you insert the key then any key will move the bolt, that said, did you lock the door then use both keys to unlock? Does the same happen for the old lock ?
If the keys do not match up and if what you said is that both keys open both locks then what you have is a master key or a defected lock?
