Thanks for the tips guys. I just got back last night WOW what a trip.We didn't get up there until midnight friday and just slept in the car few hours. They guy I was with rented a boat for the morning so we were up at ass crack of dawn motoring into the estuary. after a few minutes we were into fish. I took me a little while to figure out the techinique and my companion had already hooked three fish and landed one before I hooked up. My first Salmon. 22 lbs and nice and silver and fresh!! hooked right in the corner of the mouth. We got into a few more as the morning went one but its difficult to land the fish up there.

That after noon we hit the wall in town which is quite a scene with tons of fisherman and fish. I have never seen such high concentration of fisherman and a community that is purely drawn on fishing its quite an experience. Ever see a burger king with half the patrons wearing waders ?

Sunday morning we hit up ellis hole and to my surpirse and everyone else. I hooked into 4 fish and landed one again around the 20lb mark but I released this one. The funny thing was no one elso hooked up at that hole while we were there, I had the hot hand and I was the rookie. Afterwards we went down to the big black hole and little black hole. The were both crowded but there were lots of fish being caught and I thought this was the prettiest part of the river we fished. Never did get a chance to go to the douglas part but after this I'm going to make the trip at least once every fall What a fun time!!!

PS on the way baack we did check out the hatchery. Cool stuff I saw some fish in the ladders that were easily 40 + lbs.
