yeah, octopus-style hooks due to their thin wire tend to have eels cast off. i never use them. i use thicker wired hooks, like live bait. much better.

sluggo rod - snake, the 1201m can do it, but you better have a educated thumb, especially in the wind. the 1201L may be a nice alternative for that purpose. i wouldn't push more than 3oz with that rod and even then i may stop at 2.5oz. you may want a blank with a little faster action too and slightly shorter than 10'. i have some ideas if you want, shoot me an email/pm.

you better catch a "30"+ on that 1201m and send me some pictures!
