I stated offf using 30 lb pp , some 'nests' at first [my fault] respooled in shop tight and worked fine.
had a break off so replaced with 30lb fireline... casts better / smoother and no knot problems [maybe just 20/20 from pp]
the 3o lb fl got caught under my spool during a blitz and broke off SO ,now trying 20lb fireline [shop didnt have 30 fl], it casts a mile with a habs 2 oz popper 2oz hopkins [had a guy say WOW next to me one day casting as far as i could looking for action, he asked how much weight was on the lure ! ]
