You know, I have been thru so many waders in my life ! I am just so impressed with the simms , I think more from a comfort standpoint. As for abrasion, I fished Block Island two weeks ago and was in some craggy, nasty, surf...I was knocked down more than once onto barnicle encrusted rocks etc... while I was bruised, the waders are no worse for the wear. also the breathability is amazing, no more clammy feeling, they wick out moiture very well, and it amazes me because I am never wet. When I started it was all rubber waders and man were those uncomfortable. I really think you get what you pay for in most cases. While I had sticker shock at first I now feel it was the single best investment I made this year in equipment.
