Typically a 50" fish is 50 LBs. At least that's what we have always figured. Usually, unless the fish is sick, a 51" fish will weigh a pound an inch. Even if it's a racer, and fish that big usually are not racers, the fish had to be damn close to 50 lbs. Just a huge fish fish for the 8 to 10 foot sea we fished in last night.
Last night, I was several places with my partner from Westerly to 'Gansett. We fished with and spoke to 15 hardcore surfmen and we only saw 1 15lb fish caught. By my partner.

No boat, back in the suds.
