Typically a 50" fish is 50 LBs. At least that's what we have always figured. Usually, unless the fish is sick, a 51" fish will weigh a pound an inch. Last night, I was several places with my partner from Westerly to 'Gansett. We fished with and spoke to 15 hardcore surfmen and we only saw 1 15lb fish caught. By my partner.

Don't get me wrong... great fish I'd be ecstatic, just may not be a fifty. I caught a 39" the other night that only weighed in at 17lbs
