Sounds like a Sabre. The numbers might be a label/decal/etching that Buckos put on the blank when they built it. The original Sabres came with a wrap-around label sticker with the blank number on it, that the builder removed, and had "IGSC" written in red ink at the butt end of the rod, underneath the gelcoat.

"BB" might be "Bucko Bros". IGSC was a line of blanks made by Sabre, and the 1087 was a very sweet light/medium rod. SP probably means "spinning" and the 12-25# line rating was what Sabre recommended for that blank.
