Here's a couple of interesting books:
Striper Chronicles by Leo N. Orsi Subtitle: East Coast Surf Fishing Legends & Adventures was released last year. It pays homage to two of my favorite islands, Block Island and Jamestown. You'll probably recognize a few of the names of local sharpies that fish these productive waters.
Another great read is Frank Mundus's new book "Fifty Years a Hooker". You can buy it direct from him at

It's an interesting look at the man who inspired Peter Benchley to write Jaws; Frank was the role model for the charcter Quint...only he's more colorful. The book deals with a lot of the crazy characters Frank has fished with over the years. Frank pioneered shark fishing for sport in 1951 and went on to catch the world's largest fish on rod and reel on his boat the Cricket II.
