They are mediocre in the warmth department in late fall when your hands were wet and its 30 something out but they are no colder than most gloves and warmer than some. I like them when spinning with braid and I like them thumbing a conventional - only one I've found that I can cast well thumbing a spool - that alone is worth the price of admission for me... I've only worn mine a dozen times or so this fall but I like them and to me, they are a piece of gear to use when the time is right.... And when I wear them out I'll probably keep the middle finger's brother for casting braid
