What's important is that you are concerned Anthony. If everyone was concerned , even if they didn't get all the facts correct , the fishery would be in better shape. Its the people who don't give a damned , some do to ignorance and some even though well informed , that hurt the fishery.

If you go to voice an opinion at a fisheries commitee meeting , its pretty important to get the facts straight. For the average angler though , all you need to do is know the law and abide by it. If every angler would simply learn the rules and abide by them , that alone would be a big boost to the fishery.

I think the next biggest contribution the average Joe can make is to learn how to catch and release fish so that they have a higher survival rate after release. If a guy is gut hooking all his fish and then takes ten minutes to unhook them , he's not doing any good as far as catch and release goes. If you know how to catch and handle fish without hurting them , show somebody else who doesn't. That'll save a lot of fish over that clueless anglers lifetime.
