Scotch-Brite pad. Ya know the sponges ya buy with a sponge side and an abrasive side? walmart, homies, etc. have the abrasive side only without the sponge in cleaning/housewares. buffs it ever so slightly, and it helps the epoxy to hold better. I should add that I use rattle cans, not sure if it will ruin whatever some guys are using with their air brushes. I seem to remember that some guys spray a clear over the plugs after airbrushing, buff with the pad, then epoxy, not buff the paint itself.
