Dormant oil will kill some but not all. Too many. They hide under the bark. Don't spray if the temp. is to go under 32 or you can hurt tree. Basicly smothers them. The problem with these moths and gypsy moths is that they crawl up the tree and then go airborne via silken threads. Thus the name gypsy moth. winter moths do the same so if you spray and your neighbors don't and the wind blows from his yard to yours you guessed it. Problem with spraying chemicals you need to cover the whole tree, kind of hard on a 70 ft. tree. Between them and the gypsy moths last year they ate all my apple trees and most of my blueberries. I have a friend in Wareham who did not get a single blueberry from 200 plus bushes. Going to suck for sure.
