Try 65 in 2 feet of snow on 195.... prolly 20-25 years ago, Father-in-law in bad shape in Miriam hospital, rushing to get my wife there to see him...slipped, fishtailed, then did a nice slow spin... a perfect 360, came out of it at about 30 MPH, pointed it forward, and hit the gas...wife was white faced, didn't say a thing she just was white knuckled on the grab bar on the dash of my Old Bronco...... kept waiting for her to say something... Finally,after about 20 minutes, I said.... "Wanna see that again?"
She being a good Rhody girl, broke right out in perfect Clammerese, and chewed me a new one
I dunno about the accent thing RI, I can tell a western Mass twang, a CT accent, Vermonters, NH, Maine, all have their different rythyms... Cape Code
.. and RI... that's an entirely different thing altogether....
That almost has a New York influence, or LawnGuyLand thrown into the New England mix... That and all the terms that are exclusive to the Rhody/Providence area... Cabinet=Frappe, New York System, or Weenie=Hot Dog, etc.
