John, the rear belly hook acts as a keel. There are drawbacks to that rear belly trebble, as i learned last season, bass tend to foul themselves on it, so it is mandatory that you crimp the barbs.

As for more lead to equal it out, i was planning on trying that once i get done with all my owesies... The thing is you have to account for how far off the center of balance the hook is compared to a belly weight- you would have to use alot of lead. On my one hook dannies, i move the front hook back about an inch and also move the weight back a bit too... if you dont, the danny starts acting like a pikie, with more tail wiggle.
