Cox for $15/month

cox is now offering a deal where you get high speed internet at dsl speed 768/225K for $15 per month for up to a year. i signed up for it because i couldn't get verizion dsl. because we already have cox phone & cable we save another $10 each month. i can pick up the modem and self install on monday

My only problem is that i'm not sure if i have a 10/100 base T ethernet card. How do i find out for sure if i have one??? I have a open phone jack next to my modem, but i think it's for a fax.

I know they sell the cards for around $20....are they hard to install???
also saw that they sell other 'adapters' that work off the usb port. are these as fast as the card? ive only got usb 1

Please advise as i want to cancel my dialup service before i get billed for another month on monday.
