Martin Luther King day......

Say what you will but the day MLK was assinated was a bad day for America. No one posted here today to mark this event so I thought I would. Non-violence, passive resistence and the vision of a colorblind world ended for the most part. Who has carried his legacy the way it should have been? Maybe Ralph Abernathy and a few others but the willingness of personal sacrifice for a better America has not been taken up by anyone of influence in the black community with respect he had. I often wonder where black culture, and ours for that matter would be if he were not assinated? The black culture today that focuses on the youth of this nation, the youth of color and a major part of the white youth here in America have shallow values that reek of exploitation of women, worship at the altar of material "bling", disregard the image they portray to thier younger siblings. It's sad.
Inner city kids killing each other for sneakers and chains. Kids having kids and the notion of parental responsibilty isn't there or nor was it displayed in many situations.

Time for somone in the black community of this nation to take back the years of reversal since his assination that black culture slid back into, shake them up, wake them up and all citizens of this country to get back to the dream. One nation, one voice, caring for each other and blind to everything except we are all human beings who deserve respect and dignity.

Why even try.........
