Topwater or subsurface? Which type of fishing gives you the most jollies?
I, for one, am a bonafide topwater junkie! Pencils, chuggers, spooks.....it doesn't matter.....if it brings a striper crashing to the surface, and sends the plug flying through the air with repeated follows and strikes culminating with a nice firm hookup and a tight line.....lots of thrashing and splashing....
...oh yeah! Thats what I like!
But I also love the hard jerk after dark on a swimming plug......the slow, delibererate retrieve......the rod tip bouncing ever so softly to the thrumm of the plugs movement....and....then.....SLAM!!!! Its fish on and fight!
