DIVORCE is like a death in the family, grieving never ends sometime

My wife once told me that she is never going through a divorce again, her second/my first marriage, so I took a long look at her and said, "does that mean I could do just about anything I want and you in some way or another would find a way to get work/through it (whatever it was) whatever I did to piss her off, and she said, "yes".
In my job I have seen a lot of heartache on both sides. I have always said that a divorce is like a death in the family that you never stop grieving over. Never having personally been through it make me lucky certainly but in my job in the last 32 years I could recount some horror stories. It is always the kids that suffer the most thought that what tears me apart.
I've seen some pretty rotten guys and some pretty rotten women too. I remember one night getting sent to an apartment on a one man response domestic violence call years ago after the guy called. When I got there I met the guy outside at the end of the driveway. He said his girlfriend through something on his back on which he was wearing a t shirt while they were arguing in the kitchen. He then said he told the girlfriend he was taking off. As he went out the door she through a lit match at the back of his tshirt. It went up in a ball of flames. The liquid she through on him was charcoal lighter fluid. Lucky he moved quick and stripped the shirt off before he was burned. It was at his feet in the driveway, and absoluely nothing was left of it. She was arrested. He packed up his things while she was our guest. Funny thing about these two we kept going there and he swore up and down he wasn't the agressor, and she swore she would never doing anything to upset the children.
