Maybe I did not make it clear.
HIGH TIDE AT NEWPORT IS SAME FOR THE ROCK.
Falling tide drives the current South at the West End. The Current turns the corner under the South West Bluff and runs EAST in the Vineyard Sound.

The incoming or rising tide might drive some bait against that South West corner so maybe being there before high tide might be worth while.

Just some "local color". Those big Cement Pyrimids on the beach were over 100 feet back from the cliff when I was in my early teens and the fake water tower was standing. It was a radar outpost of something. Fifty years have put a lot of sand and mud into the ocean.
