some guys swear bye added attraction of snaps like they swear bye tailwraps but for me it's knot or nuthing.
Check out the no-slip mono loop too. 90% or more breaking strength. The Homer Rhode is a good knot but it tests out at about 50% of your line strength with lighter leader material. It works great with heavy leader material or wire, but be careful when you start getting under 30# test.
