I can't resist posting in this thread, I love to bash American Idol.
I have only watched it a couple of times, as a musician it interested me, but the show is so freakin' annoying. If I wanted to watch Kareoke I would go to the local watering hole.
As much as I hate to admit it, I kind of like Kelly Clarkson, she has one hellava voice, but did you guys know the main reason why she has had the recent success (3 years after winning Idol) is because she exercised her right to leave the management company that she was forced to sign with when she won and they did not put up a big fight to keep her because her debut CD didn't meet sales expectations. GREAT move on her part, she basically forgotton before her latest CD came out. Look at her now, a multiple grammy winner. There is bad blood between her and the Idol gang though, she flat out refused to let current cotestants sing any of her songs. Oh and if this record contract that the winner gets it so good where the hell are the 3 or 4 or whatever winners? It's kind of sad for the kids because in this day and age in the music industry, if you don't hit right away, you are history.
