You can use anything you like- dacron is nice, but i dont like it's knot holding ability... you really have to use alot of super glue or ZAp on the knots.
Mono is fine, but i am not sure if the super glue weakens the line as it cures-
I like to use 60 lb Cortland master braid when i rig mine.
