No doubt, immigrants do face a grueling process to become legal citizens. With good reason. The basically open borders we currently have are probably the most serious security situation this country has ever faced. Lowering the standards and making it easier for immigrants to naturalize is not the solution. Eliminating the illegal flow and enforcing current immigration standards seems to be the incredibly simple solution here. Leave it to Washington to turn a simple solution into a bureaucratic nightmare. Could that be because that whatever political party actually puts the hammer down on illegals will lose an enermous voting block and will be hard pressed to ever win a major election again?
