Ron over the Sportsman's Den in Quincy makes custom rods and also has some decent quality production rods... Custom rods tend to run a bit more than "off the shelf" rods but in most cases, you get what you pay for.

I'm willing to bet that 85% of the shore guys on this board primarily fish custom rods. Rate is probably cheaper for the boat guys cause, well, it's simpler
