As far as what kind of rod to get, what do you plan to do? And which reel did you buy?

Ron over the Sportsman's Den in Quincy makes custom rods and also has some decent quality production rods... Custom rods tend to run a bit more than "off the shelf" rods but in most cases, you get what you pay for. http://www.striped-bass.com/tackleshops.shtml

I'm willing to bet that 85% of the shore guys on this board primarily fish custom rods. Rate is probably cheaper for the boat guys cause, well, it's simpler .
