I fished from shore and not to totally give up the spot let's just say I fished structure, no ramp needed. They seem to be chasing herring which are making their way to the salt water tidal marshes and streams. I fished my 5" white shad very slowly and had to really make sure they had it completely because they were hitting it but not taking it all the time. I was surprised at the fight and how aggresive they were because the water temp was in the mid forties. I saw a few boats and about ten other anglers in my vicinity but I was so busy I really didn't see if anybody got a keeper. I doubt it becasue a couple of the guys came my way to chat and they were landing the same size as me but not with quite the same regularity. I would say color of the bait was important because I used a greenish and silvery color a couple of casts and didn't even get a hit. White was being hit continuously. Plymouth should be great, making your way to Gurnet and then the bridge. Oh yeah, no birds either. It's not the official blitz yet in the bay but it will be here any day I'm sure. Good luck!
