Mine swims and stays down just fine I made the larger one... I tried different wood and was prepared to do hardwoods but ayc worked just fine .. Nothing like having a real model ,,,, pictures aren't as accurate ... Why couldn't you just go up the street to the Flap museum and borrow one...
