What type of motor is it? Two stroke or 4? I've been told that if you've added an ethanol mix/fuel to your original gasoline only, that excess water can be taken up upon first use. Check you're fuel/water separator and see if it's full of water.
Post again if you get it diagnosed...I'd love to know what caused the problem and if indeed it was the ethanol.
