Funny to see a post about this. Went to the ditch for the first time in a couple years (used to fish it more when I lived in Wareham) last weekend with the 'breakin' tides' and was in awe when the bike guys showed up and started launching from the bike path. The water was so low I don't know if I could reach it from the path! And here I was so happy to be wading in the ditch for the first time. I thought these we're the canal "sharpies" and I was thinking I need a bike and one of those snazzy conv. rigs. Didn't see them catch anything though, they were gone as soon as they came, apparently chasing that one bass I saw chasing that one piece of bait on top right at daybreak.... I like to relax when I fish, that's probably the most appeallling thing about it. Fishing the canal everyday when it's busy reminds me of the morning commute.
