Yes, vintage ball. It was actually on one of his foul pop ups on close to one of his last games at Fenway. I kept the ball, then a few years later my brother and I attended T.W. Baseball camp in Lakeville. I brought the ball with me everyday hoping to get his autograph. I finally caught up to him and some other guy leaving the main office building. When I asked him for the autograph, he just about pushed me out of the way and mumbled something like, "I don't have time for that bull$hit." The guy with him leaned over and quietly whispered something to him. Ted grabbed the ball and said "Here ya go" and walked off.
I was so pissed, I wanted to bean him in the back of the head with the ball.
Anyways, I kept the ball. It was dirty to begin with and the autograph has grown a bit faded over the years, but it's the real deal. I know the prized balls are pristene and come with certs of authenticity. I've often thought of selling it, but figured it's not worth as much as those certified pieces. Therefore, I kept it.
