Lots of places to fish around Plum Island. Fishing at the mouth can be good but is usually always crowded. The oceanfront can be productive as well and is usually less crowded but during the day it is beach season now so you most likely need to walk a distance to find some space. Wading out onto the mud flats can also be very productive but be careful to pay attention to the tides, about 2 hours after low tide I would suggest returning to your entry point.
If you are bait fishing, worms and clams are more popular than cut bait like mackerel or herring.
If you venture down into the game refuge during the day be advised that the greenheads are out now.

To those that understand no explanation is necessary. To those that do not understand no explanation will suffice. (Jerry Lewis)
