Luckily I saw it just in time and was able to slowly back away to a safe distance and make a little noise to scare it away. I figuered that I was destined to get skunked after that but I did manage one 15" bass just before leaving. Just curious if seeing a skunk is considered bad luck to most people and also if anyone knows were the term "getting skunked" term originated.
