I grew up in Ipswich and Woodman's fried clams in Essex have been what I judge all others againsed. Farnum's in Essex a close second because they have Fried Oysters on a regular basis.

After I started this thread, I hit the Clam Shack in Kennebunkport for a pint of Fried. These are the best fried clams I have had outside Essex and Ipswich. Their batter is excellent!

The Best in Maine.

Bob's in Kittery on Rte 1 makes a great Fried Oyster. Their clams are'nt as good. Not greasy enough.
