Tuna Feathers

Decided to try something different and make some tuna trollers. i used IPE turned on the lathe. Man, they don't call that stuff iron wood for nothing, sharpened the tools before, during and after each head. I was impressed y the way it looks though.
Sealed both heads then decided to keep one natural as I liked the way the grain looked and paint the other.
the natural head, i just sprayed with art fixative as the wood seemed pretty oily let it dry then E-tex'd, the E-tex played nice and it really brought tout the wood grain.
The painted plug i primed painted then E-texed.
Shannon performed her magic by tying the feathers and epoxying the wraps. We did one classic black/purple and the other in mexican flag.
They are both about 6" total length an weight almost 3oz.

hope ya like em!
