John, so far the transom looks good in all the holes, its not wet. There is some delamination at the top between the 2 sheets, but believe its neither structural and could be corrected easily. But theres a big hole from the i/o, and if Im gonna hang an outboard there, Im considering replacing the whole transom instead of filling the hole to err on the side of caution. Zacs, the scupper issue is inherent to the SC 20' design. Either it was the through floor scuppers that didnt drain well unless underway, or the thru transom design like mine, thats just plain to low. None the the foam on my 20', which is just between the outer stringers and hull sides, are wet. The stringers are hollow and the transom isnt waterlogged.
There is alot of weight distribution to consider, lighter rear, moving the fuel tank forward and possibly replacing for a larger one and having a large livewell aboard and having removed all the forward cuddy weight.
