The temp on Saturday was nice on land, however out on the water it falls once the boat is up to 30-40+mph, and add the spray and it is coooold, not to mention the water temp out where we were was only in the low 60's, it is not July or August, that is for sure. Plus I'm just some bum-skinny Chinaman, I get cold easily. It was around 4pm when the bite turned on so that sun, being lower in the sky, just was not all that bright. Add the sleep deprivation and lack of food just makes me cold. The jacket is just some high-tech foul weather jacket, no lining is inside of it but I have my lifejacket on underneath, I always wear the jacket because I don't want to die.
I had read about someone who 3-wayed a bomber or other swimmer and it had worked for them. We had no more eels and no bait of any kind, I figured the action of a bomber would be pretty good in the current/state of drift we where in. I guess as the fish were there, they were there. No markings on the fishfinder, we just drifted through a fishy looking rip and I got the luck.
