The 5-1/2" split tail with my usual solder in a double wrap tops out around 1-1/2 oz, but you can get close to 2-1/2 oz with the 7 inch version on a 7/0 hook and going up to a heavier diameter solder. It won't fall like a 2-1/2 oz canal jig since the weight is spread out, but hey that's why they work so well
