That being said, I like watching since the Montauk area is still an area that truly amazes me. I hope to fish it next season from the boat if possible.

Now that I have a DVR, I have become somewhat of a fishing show fanatic because I tape a lot of them.
I totally agree with every criticism of the show. They don't seem like they know what they are doing at all, other than maybe knowing how to drive a boat. It seems like all they catch are schoolies, if that, they are always talking about "finding bass" because most of the time it seems like they only catch blues and albies. The show is like friggin' amatuer hour and I bet some hardcore Mantauk guides that are out there at night and pre-dawn are feeling disgraced by the show.
I saw that guy with the upside down reel and I couldn't friggin' believe that they guide let him continue fishing like that.
It seems like their major strategy is to chase blitzes around, I remember that english guy pointed to surfcasters on the shore and said "yeah, those surfcasters there indicate something is happening around here" LOL - give me a break. If I was paying a guide that they said something like that to me, I'd probably jump off the boat and swim to shore!
