I was thinking the exact same thing! Big risk for a foriegn player that has never been in anybody's system in the big leagues. We went down this road with a couple of foriegn pitchers and they stunk it up. Remember Byun Yung Kim? The culture barrior is a HUGE hurdle for these guys to get over and the schedule is way tougher on these guys than in Japan with the long road trips and all the travel. That's a ton of dough for an untested rookie. If this move doesn't pan out I see the end of Theo in Boston. Gotta love the hot stove stuff. Only in Boston!
