The duplicator is nthing but a piece of extruded aluminum with the necessary attachments.
If you mount it on the back you have to turn the tool upside down. Then you can use your tool rest or sand from the front.
The lathe is plenty stable and will hold the weight of the dup with no problem.
Plese understand that you have to work the dup from the back if that's where you mount it. Those of us with a bench built against the wall, well we just can't gt back there.
I had a fellow make me a couple of stops for the mounting legs of my dup. I can pop it off and work the plug from the tool rest which is mounted between the clamps. Then when I am ready I just pop the dup right back on and it's centered.
