you do not want to mix wire and ceramics. if you plan on using just braid, use ceramics. fuji's are the best and i have yet to have any troubles with them other than rust on the frames of the less expensive ones. if you want the old school and just plan on throwing mono, you should be fine, but will have to deal with line slap. you can also use ceramics for mono, just start w/ a 50mm. if you use braid, you can start as small as a 25, 30 or 40 depending on the reel you plan on using. if you plan on doing both, do a 50.

i had the opportunityto test a blank in the new line from lamiglas. it was the ssu1081m, which was 9'. i built it for braid and it is a perfect fit for a vs150 or 200. the rod is at the saltwater edge shop as a demo being tested. i hope to have more models this winter. it is nice.
