A couple things you should know. Make sure the reel handle is seated all the way. On the backside of the arm to the reel seat, is a piece of rubber, under it are 2 screws. Make sure they are tight. You can take 1 out at a time, coat with a little loctite, and reinsert before you take out the other one. On my first reel those screws loosened causing the gears to grind. I sent it back to Pure fishing and they sent me a new one. This is by far the best reel I have ever owned. I will be buying another one soon.
