That's what happens when you pay 700 plus million for a ball club and you got Hollywood people involved in the owership. Got to raise $$$ anyway you can. The whole reason for signing DK was to infiltrate the Far East market and profit from the possibilities. Him being a good pitcher is a close second. Sports is a business first and foremost, although these guys, ownership, has got all the $$$$ they need in several lifetimes and probably think of it as a hobby but it still has to support itself.
