not to get in an a religious discussion, but.....having been raised in Catholic schools and attending a number of religious classes in college, I have never read that Jesus was a fisherman. Being the son of a carpenter, odds are that was his trade too. Many of his Apostles (ex. James the fisherman) were fisherman, and Jesus lived close to the Sea of Galilee. Jesus was referred to as a "fisher of man" to demostrate his spreading of the word of God and attempt to reach mass audiences and save their souls. The "fish" you see on cars is a Christian symbol, used by the followers of Jesus to identify themselves. Remember, Christians were outlaws for hundreds of years. Just my 2 cents.
