We mention the canal all the time too and there are private owners there also, but we don't talk pole numbers usually so it doesn't burn the canal by speaking of it. And the owners do do what they want, including dumping grass clipping over the fence onto you

sad I'm more comfortable on shore and like the challenge better, I guess I'll stick it out and fight the seals and plovers and mung and private access issues.............
