Bass Babe has a good point, if the harddrive isn't ruined then it might be better to get a replacement unit, and switch the harddrives. I rebuild laptops all the time in school, to the point i can do it with my eyes shut, but this happens a lot more then you would think. Long as the harddrive is unharmed, then theres nothing to fear that you lost anything.
