The girl comes home one day and her mother starts to chat her daughter up trying to be a good mother, so the girl confides something to the mother. And then the chit hits the fan. Mom talks to dad, dad and mom have another chat with the girl and they go to the school and then the police. Everybodies hands are tied. Charges are sought because if they are not brought then the parents will sue the local p.d. D.S.S. is brought in to oversee the victims best interest regardless of the family background. Boy or girl perpetrator, and it can be a female perpetrator, is brought to court for arraignment and then a date for trial comes up and the victim and her family decides that it was much ado about nothing, and it probably was, then refuse to come to court. Charges dismissed. And this occurs even when it is very serious, such as rape or indecent assault, not just when it might be considered improper touching (kissing)(fanny patting). My post here only relates for the most part to kids stuff. Certainly, when it is a serious felony type crime people testifiy more often, but all of you would be amazed at what goes south because what was extrordinarily important just a short time ago becomes meaningless a ferw months later. And when it becomes meaningless one has to wonder just what was true in the accusation to begin with.
